SAMS stands for Students Academic Management System. It has two components e-Admission & e-Administration. SAMS presently supports online admission for Higher
Secondary, Degree, Post-graduations, ITI, Diploma, PDIS, Teacher Education, Physical
Education, correspondence and Music, Dance & Drama Education institutions.
e-Admission is nothing but online admission carried out for various courses (as answered
in the ques-1) of Odisha. The detailed process of admission is explained in the Common
Prospectus (CP) available separately for different courses.
Various information such as college principal name, address, contact details & detailed
profile of different colleges coming under the e-Admission process can be obtained from
the website i.e. www.samsodisha.gov.in
The common timeline for e-Admission is published on the
website www.samsodisha.gov.in.
The Common Application Form (CAF) can be accessed on the
website www.samsodisha.gov.in along with the CP which guides you to apply the CAF correctly.
Yes, you need to apply online through the CAF following the guidelines of the CP, take
print copies of the Applicant CAF and keep it with you for further process at the time
of admission.
You can access the Individual College Profiles available on the website and get various
details such as streams available, Honours available, cut-off percentage of last years,
availability of hostel & fees, admission fees, etc.
An eligible applicant will have to apply ONLINE for a maximum of TWENTY options and
minimum of FIVE options (College + Stream + Honours) through www.samsodisha.gov.in
An option is a combination of a particular Institutions + Stream + Honours. You should
exercise your options in order of preference only i.e. the most preferred option to be
opted first.
No. The selection will be conducted on the basis of merit, reservations & weightage.
Student will be selected against any one option only.
For example, if you apply with five options and you get selected against the 3rd option,
then your status for 1st & 2nd option is open for the sliding up in subsequent rounds. In
case of vacancy arises due to non-joining of selected candidates.
By viewing the COVID-19 situation, HE Department has stopped the validation process
prior to the admission. Students are advised not to visit any place for validation/Doubts

Option wise fees will not be collected. General candidates will pay Rs.275/- per
application and SC/ ST candidates will pay Rs.175/- per application. The fees amount
will be printed at the top of the College Copy as well as on the Applicant’s copy of the
CAF. No refund can be claimed at a later date. The PWD and TG (Third Gender /
Transgender) candidates are exempted from paying the CAF Fees.
An applicant can modify the provided information by login to their SAMS student eSpace till online submission of the CAF. After submission of data online, applicants can
modify the options only until deposit of CAF fees online. After successful payment, CAF
can't be modified.
The merit lists are published on the scheduled date & time at
website www.samsodisha.gov.in for information of public. You will also be intimated
your status exclusively through SMS, WhatsApp & Email (if mobile number, WhatsApp
number & email address is provided in the CAF) about the selection status. You can also
download the intimation letter from your student login & from your WhatsApp
number.
List of the documents required is given in the Intimation Letter. Arrange all the
requisites for admission such as original certificates for verification, photo and
admission fees & report to the Principal of the destination college on the scheduled
date & time.
Unlike previous years, admission fees for admission into U.G. courses will not be
collected from you through SAMS portal during e-Admission period. Only after
completion of e-admission period, you have to deposit admission fees in HEIs where you
will finally take admission within the mentioned time period by Department. Admission
Fees of that College will be mentioned in the Intimation Letter.
