SAMS stands for Students Academic Management System. It has two components e-Admission & e-Administration. SAMS presently supports online admission for Higher Secondary, Degree, Post-graduations, ITI, Diploma, PDIS, Teacher Education, Physical Education, correspondence and Music, Dance & Drama Education institutions institutions.
e-Admission is nothing but online admission carried out for various courses (as answered in the ques-1) of Odisha. The detailed process of admission is explained in the Common Prospectus (CP) available separately for different courses.
Various information such as college principal name, address, contact details & detailed profile of different colleges coming under the e-Admission process can be obtained from the website i.e. www.samsodisha.gov.in

The Common Application Form (CAF) can be accessed by visiting the website www.samsodisha.gov.in along with the CP which guides you to apply the CAF correctly.
Yes, you need to apply the CAF online by following the guidelines of the CP, take print copies of the Applicant CAF and Keep it with you for further Process at the time of Admission.
SRC stands for SAMS Resource Center. Applicants are instructed to visit his/her nearest SRC for correction of CAF (if any) and Validation of CAF whose CAF are not auto validated by the system.
Applicants who have passed from CHSE, Odisha and are not seeking any reservation, weightage etc., along with paid the CAF Fees online, their CAFs will be automatically validated by the system and they are not required to submit the “HEI copy” at the SRC. This will be written at the top of the CAF that “Your CAF is Auto-Validated”.
Even if, it is written at the top of the CAF that the CAF is auto validated, but you have found any mistakes, you can visit your nearest SRC for necessary correction.
You can access the Individual College Profiles available on the website and get various details such as streams available, Honours available, cut-off percentage of last years, availability of hostel along with Admission fees & Course fees etc.
An applicant can apply ONLINE for a minimum FIVE options (College + Stream + Honours) and maximumunlimited numbers of options through www.samsodisha.gov.in
An option is a combination of a particular Institution + Stream + Honours. You should exercise your options in order of preference only i.e. the most preferred option to be opted first.
No. The selection will be conducted on the basis of merit & reservations. Applicants will be selected against any one option only.
Applicants after selection, if satisfied with the seat allotted to them i.e., both the HEI and the Honors subject, they can choose this option to do the online payment and further they can download the Intimation letter.
After selection, if an applicant has accepted the allotted seat and also wishes a better Honors in their higher preferences forsame Institution only, they can choose this option.

No, Intimation letter will not be available for applicants who opt for “SLIDE” or “FLOAT” option. Only by choosing the “Freeze” option, you will be asked to pay the Admission/ Differential fees and after successful payment you can download the Intimation Letter.

Applicants belongs to General Category will have to pay Rs.275/- per application and SC/ ST category applicants will have to pay Rs.175/- per application. The CAF fees will be printed at the top of the College Copy as well as on the Applicant’s copy of the CAF. Refund of CAF fees cannot be claimed at a later date. The PwD (permanent disability) and TG (Third Gender / Transgender) applicants are exempted from paying the CAF Fees.
An applicant can modify the provided information by login to their SAMS student e-Space till online submission of the CAF. After submission of data online, applicants can modify the options only at SRCs.
The merit lists shall be published on the scheduled date & time at website www.samsodisha.gov.in for information of public. You will also be intimated about your selection status exclusively through SMS, Email & WhatsApp . You can also download the intimation letter from your students log in.
Whenever a seat is allocated, you have to compulsorily choose any of the option – Freeze, Float or Slide – carefully. After selecting any of these options mentioned as per your interest, you will have to pay the admission fees shown in the screen.
List of the documents required is given in the Intimation Letter. Arrange all the requisites for admission such as original certificates for verification, photo and admission fees & report to the Principal of the destination college on the scheduled date & time.
Answer:If you are allocated a seat in a certain round of SAMS UG Admission 2023, you need to choose Slide or Float option as per your choice and pay the admission fees to continue in further rounds of selection for a seat in your higher preference in any Institute/within the allocated Institute in the subsequent rounds (other than the 6th round). If you fail to do so, your allocated seat will be cancelled, and you will no longer be able to participate in the seat allocation process.
Answer:Once you are allocated a seat of higher preference based on your slide/ float option, your previous allotted seat from the earlier round will be automatically cancelled and you cannot get the previously allotted seat.
Answer:If you are satisfied with the allotted seat and do not wish to participate in further rounds of selection process, you need to choose the option “Freeze” and pay the displayed admission fees online. After successful online payment, you need to report the allotted HEI along with the online generated Intimation letter.
Answer:If you have accepted a seat in a certain round and would like to be considered for a seat of higher preference within the same Institute, you need to choose the option of ‘Float’. Further, if you are allocated a seat of higher preference in a subsequent round of selection, your earlier accepted seat will be automatically cancelled and you will have to accept the newly allocated seat.
Answer:You cannot change the option to float/slide if you choose the option ‘Freeze’ while accepting the allocated seat. Further, you will not be considered for seat allocation in subsequent rounds (if any) while your accepted seat remains allocated to you.
Answer: Yes, if you choose the option ‘Freeze’ for the allotted seat by paying the admission fees online, you need to report immediately at the allotted HEI for admission. Otherwise, the same seat will be allocated to another applicant in the subsequent round.
Answer: You MUST pay the admission fees. Otherwise, your allocated seat will be cancelled and you will no longer be able to participate in the subsequent rounds of seat allocation process (if any) if you do not pay the admission fees.
